The Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface Blue
As part of the brand's 180th anniversary celebration, Jaeger-LeCoultre has released a special Reverso, the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface Blue. Bringing together the orignal Reverso's ties to the sport of polo and Jaeger-LeCoultre's dedication to high horology, the Duoface Blue takes its aesthetic cues from the 1931 Reverso but adds a second timezone on the case's back. It's a fitting modern tribute to a true classic.
1933 Blue Dial Reverso
The Duoface Blue's beautiful lacquered dial has been carefully matched to the particular blue of a similar 1933 Reverso. While the subseconds dial that appeared on the original has been removed on the Duoface Blue, the baton hour markers, railroad minutes track, and sword shaped hands have all remained as they were. Even the "Reverso" printed at 12 o'clock utilizes the same font used on the first 1931 Reverso.
Second Dial, With Day/Night Indicator
Turning over the case, you'll find an entirely different dial showing a second timezone. The opaline white dial is finished with clous de Paris guilloché and offers a nice contrast to the blue laquer up front. The hands here are still sword shaped, but are finished in superluminova, and intersecting the main dial at 6 o'clock you'll find the 24-hour subdial with "Day" and "Night" indicators printed to the left and right. A Detailed Look At The Second Dial
The 9.15mm thick case houses a manually-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre 854/1 movement that tracks both timezones. All of this is held to the wrist with a special cordovan Casa Fagliano strap (as many of the recent Reverso releases are), taking the polo connection a step further. The Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Duoface Blue is priced at $10,400.
